GOD ???

What is God? Who is God? Do you believe in God? Why we have to believe in God? Why we have to pray to Him? Does God exist? Many questions surround my mind. Something that I have learned since I was a child, God is an abstract thing. God was not born and does not bear. God has not any faces, has not gender, does not eat, does not sleep, and soon. My family and my teachers said that God created human, animals, plants, earth, planets, solar system and many more, whereas God is just an abstract thing, and then how come an-abstract-thing does that? The resources are from Al-Quran and Hadists, Al-Quran and Hadists tell us about the presence of God, the power of God, the story of the prophets, etc. Again, I wonder that who has written an Al-Quran and Hadists? Does it true that Al-Quran and Hadists created by God and the prophet? My family and my teacher just made sure about it to me. They just implant believe of God in my mind, time goes by then I believe about God’s presence.

FILSAFAT DAN AGAMA

Kuliah umum merupakan suatu hal yang cukup menarik untuk saya karena hal tersebut adalah saat dimana perkuliahan yang biasa dilakukan di kelas menjadi sebuah nuansa baru yang cukup membangkitkan semangat lebih untuk belajar. Selain itu faktor dari dosen tamu atau pembicara tentu saja turut andil di dalamnya.  Rabu, 23 Nopember 2011, matakuliah Humanistic Studies mengundang seorang dosen tamu yang cukup tersohor baik melalui karya maupun pemikiran dan kehidupannya. Seorang wanita bergelar M.Hum yang sangat ahli dalam ilmu filsafat dan juga tersohor atas lagu yang dibawakannya yang berjudul “Lembayung Bali” yang kini menjadi dosen di Universitas Indonesia, ia adalah Saras Dewi Dhamantra, M.Hum.

How do I define my identities? Actually, identity is not merely about my name only, but also covers my life. In example my identities are a child of my parents, a student of SSE, a Moslem, an Indonesian, and soon. Every part of my identities has its own place, for example when I am as a child of my parents, my main place is in my own home because I can do everything there, such as eating as much as I want, sleeping, using short pants and many more.

First Reflection of Humanistic Studies

Humanistic Studies! First time I heard it, I thought that the class will teach us about human, human’s interaction with the others, such as with another humans, environments, cultures, and soon. That’s true about what I am thinking about Humanistic Studies. When the first meeting in the class, then I read the module generally, it showed that I will learn about cultures, religion from another point of view (not like in preview schools), historical of religion, and many more. I am really sure that in this class I will learn about the factual issues which are happening in our life at present. So, it must be an interesting class.
